Stordalselva river has given a special beauty to this small town. People from Germany, Sweden and the other countries come to Åfjord for fishing. Fishing season begins from May 15 th to August 31st. You can use tubefly or worm to catch big salmons, make sure to get there very early in the morning since there are many areas that will be taken by the others. Namsen has also lots of salmon in verious sizes. You might catch one up to 20 Kilo! There are many fishing boats that apply different methods to catch salmons ( Laks in Norwegian).
